Beware The Ides of March! That's what a soothsayer once said to Julius Caesar warning him of his impending death. He eventually was murdered during a senate meeting he called on that day, depicted above by Vincenzo Camuccini in 1798.
In the Roman Calendar, the ides refer to the 15th day of the months of March, May, July and October and the 13th day for the other months.
