After a lazy brunch this past Sunday with two of our most favorite ladies, Monica Thompson and Mary Pat Thibodeau, we swung by Barnes & Noble so that Monica could pick up the latest Harry Potter. Je N'Adore Pas, but we digress...
Monica suggested that we read The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Although we had heard of the book, we didn't know much about it. When we were told that it was about a Spanish boy in search of a treasure hidden near the Great Pyramids of Egypt, we J'Adored all over ourselves. You know how much we love all things Egypt. Actually, you probably didn't know that because we've never mentioned it to you before, but once again, we digress...
Anyway, we just finished this phenomenal book. It's about the life long quest that each and every one of us faces while searching for our own Personal Legend, or meaning in life. It's about the challenges we face, the courage we all possess and most importantly, the understanding to know that we are the one true source of our own destiny and eternal happiness.
This book comes at a very important time for us, having just left our jobs and trying to find our place in the hysterical glamour that is our life and all. It has inspired us to make the most of what we've got and who we are, and..... EEEEEW! We are about to give ourselves a big Je N'Adore Pas if we don't stop being so sappy right now!
